Unlocking an Application or Form

Background and Purpose

The TRMS application locks documents to specific workflow users to ensure only authorized users can process an application or form. Ordinarily, once a user is working on a document it's locked, but subsequently unlocked once completed.


However, if an authorized user is working on a document and does not log out properly (or loses connection to the application), the form may remain locked in order to prevent to users with the same role from accessing the document at the same time. 


The article explains how to unlock the document.

Use-Case Scenario

A user tries to work on a document but gets the message, the "Form is currently locked by USER (user_email)"

ProcessThe document must e unlocked by the user. The steps are as follows:
  1. User logs into the TRMS and pulls up the application or form
  2. Click on Actions button and select "Unlock Form", click on Unlock.
  3. Form is unlocked.
